Both my boys attended for their first time. They did not go together so I was worried but after each one of them came home and told me their experiences, I was very impressed. I will definitely send them again and have already invited family and friends to go next year. Everyone was so great and friendly that my kids came back talking about the staff as if they had known them for years. Thank you all so much.

Welcome to Camp Jack Hazard 2016!!!

The Jack and Buena Foundation is excited to roll out our enrollment for the Summer of 2016! This will be the Foundations's 6th year operating Camp Jack Hazard and Camp Jack Hazard will be celebrating its 92nd year serving the Central Valley and beyond. Camp Jack Hazard continues to grow in size and sessions. In 2015 we served a total of 375 campers (132 more than 2014). We have added a third session to both our Resident Camp and our LIT programs to help accommodate expected similar growth. Some other things have changed as well.  This year we will be celebrating the Returning Campers with an official Camp Jack Hazard 2016 Hoodie sweatshirt (a $40 value) that will help to keep our little campers warm until they come back to their home away from home. We will be waiving the Registration Fee for our Early Bird enrollment, a savings of $25. This year the Early Bird program will end on January 31, 2016, so make sure you sign up early. For our campers that refer a new, first time camper, they will receive 10% off their tuition. Not only do you save $65, but you can stack the Refer a Friend discount to help offset the cost of your entire enrollment.

You don’t have to go far or spend a lot of time looking for adventure this summer. Each week-long Resident Camp session features a two-night backpacking adventure and tons of action-packed activities. We foster personal growth through challenging and exhilarating activities. Campers will learn respect for others, respect for nature and respect for themselves.

Horseback Riding - $40

Camp Jack Hazard will be partnering once again with Kennedy Meadows Resort and Pack Station to provide a unique and wonderful experience for your youth. Campers will enjoy 60 minute ride through the beautiful High Sierra Mountains with their cabin mates on horseback. Camp staff will accompany the participants of this program and will ensure a great experience! This is a great opportunity for both the novice and experienced rider.

Resident Camp Sessions -$650 + $25 rEGISTRATION FEE

Session I: July 2 - July 9

Session II: July 9 - July 16

Session III: July 16 - July 23

Rookie Camp is a four-day, three-night mini-session designed for first time campers as an introduction to the camp and preparation for a full length Camp Jack Hazard session. Campers will try all of the activities available to Resident Campers, including: games, campfires, camp programs and an on-site overnight where they’ll have the opportunity to sleep under the stars without leaving CJH grounds. A low camper to staff ratio ensures that each camper receives the personal attention they deserve to create a fun and memorable first camp experience.

Session I: June 29 - July 2

Session II: July 31 -  August 3

Leaders in Training (LIT) will enjoy two weeks at camp preparing for the challenges of future leadership positions. During their first week, LIT’s will develop their communication, teamwork, counseling and wilderness survival skills. Participants help lead a cabin during the following week. Due to the level of responsibility that the participant must demonstrate, the second week is not guaranteed for each person. This will be assessed by the LIT Directors and the Program Directors. LIT's that exceed expectations may be asked to stay on as volunteer staff.
